Churidar or more appropriately churidar pyjamas, are tightly fitting trousers worn by both men and women along with kurta in South and Cenral Asia. It is a very ideal type outfit for slim and trim figure. Churidar Suits are also tagged under basic category of Salwar Kameez. Churidar Designs have become quite popular over the period and are now under commonly stitched patterns with women salwar kameez.
The churidar desings are usually worn with a kameez (a form-fitted overshirt) by women or a kurta (a loose overshirt) by men, or they can form part of a bodice and skirt ensemble, as seen in the illustration of 19th century Indian women wearing churidar design with a bodice and a transparent overskirt.
